Back At It

It's been awhile and it's time to get back to my blog.  I had been working on my dissertation and obtaining my Doctorate and needed to stay focused, but I missed blogging.

I had an opportunity on 09/11 to run a 5k in Stone Harbor, NJ.  It was really special, with a moment of silence at the starting line in remembrance of all who perished in that horrible attack.  At the Fire Station, there is a memorial with an actual piece of one of the Twin Towers and a plaque with a dedication. The bagpipes played as we left to run the race.  It really was a very organized and memorable run.

I run at my own pace and don't care what place I come in or how long it takes.  I run with two knee braces for support as you can see.  I like doing all kinds of races and I try to do them to contribute to charitable causes.  The point is, I just run because I like running.  It keeps my heart pumping and my joints moving. I don't care what I look like, how fast I run or what anyone thinks.  I just run.

What can you do to improve your mobility and health and that you like to do?   Walking, biking, dancing, belly dancing, country line dancing, swimming are all good activities to keep you mobile.  Just get up and get moving.  If you need a brace or anything just wear it.  Don't worry how fast you are, how good you are, how you look...don't worry about anything.  This is for you and your health.

Do what you like and like what you do.
